December 28, 2007 (Columbus, Ohio) – Canada’s Samantha Cools scored back-to-back wins as she won again today at the UCI Points Race #7 held in conjunction with the NBL Christmas Classic in Columbus, Ohio. Sammy has been training hard overseas and boy can you see the work paying off.
Earlier today I sat down to enjoy another round of live UCI Racing on the website go211.com only to find that living in the boonies (Ballinifad, ON) isn’t always a good thing. There was lots of buffer streaming going on and I had to rely on the chat boards to keep me up to date on how our Canadians did racing at the UCI Races in Columbus, Ohio.
It was a tough day for our elite men with Jimmy Brown, Scott Erwood and Pat Lebel not advancing and Elite women Kayla Sweeney and Christine Brown also not advancing – so all our hopes were pinned on Sammy Cools – and she came through again.
Off the races I did catch, Sammy was way in front, and luckily for me her brother Ken Cools was also watching on go211.com and was giving me the play by play. She ran the perfect race and won her second UCI race in as many days. Does this firm up her spot at the 2008 Olympics? We will have to watch uci.ch for the updates.
