August 10, 2019 (Scotland) – Canada’s Alison Jackson (Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank) won the 139km Stage 2 from Glasgow to Perth at the Women’s Tour of Scotland on Saturday for one of the biggest victories in her career. Emma White (USA) Rally UHC Cycling was second and Stine Borgli (Nor) Norway finished third on the podium in a high-speed sprint finish in Perth.

The new event was forced to cancel Friday’s opening 103km stage from Dundee to Dunfermline due to extreme weather conditions. Jackson becomes the first rider to wear the inaugural Baillie Gifford Yellow Jersey with an impressive sprint in the final 200m to cap off a thrilling day of racing.

“Myself and my team came here wanting to win. We knew we could do that by winning stages. We were ready to win yesterday’s, if it weren’t for the rain, but today we managed to achieve our goal. We really played the game. When you have your teammates all in the right place, you know you will be able to win the sprint. I’m really happy about the result, not just for myself individually, but for the whole team,” said Jackson.
