June 16, 2004 – The CCA is happy to announce the names of the athletes who
will represent Canada in the upcoming BMX World Championship and World
Challenge events, to be held in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands, from July 23
to 25.

For the first time, the CCA is able to offer funding for some of our
competitors. Reigning World Junior Champion Samantha Cools of Airdrie,
Alberta, was automatically picked for a funded spot. Two junior men also
qualified for funding through selection events in Ridge Meadows, B.C., and
Kingston, Ont. They are Scott Erwood of Ridge Meadows and Jonathan Goulet of
St-Louis-de-France, Que.

In total, 26 athletes will wear the Canadian colours in Valkenswaard,
ranging in age from 9 years to 46 years. The delegation will be managed by
Kris Westwood
of the CCA, and the team coach will be John Cools of Airdrie BMX.
