The UCI rankings are in and Canada is out. Canada needed to be qualified in
the top-30 countries in order to send two riders to the Road Worlds 2002
in Zolder, Beligum on October 11, and Canada has missed the mark by one country. The other
option was to have had a rider in the top-400 for individual points, but
that qualification was not met either. Canada should still be able to send
riders to the Time Trial, but for the first time in many years no Maple
Leaf riders will be on the road race startline. Top 30 Countries that are
eligible for the World Championships and can send 12 riders:

These countries can send 8 riders:

These countries can send 2 riders:

26. South Africa
27. Hungary
28. Mexico
29. Luxembourg
30. Bulgaria

Canada is ranked 31st, and therefore, cannot send any riders.
