July 18, 2007 (Mt. Washington, BC) — Micayla Gatto (BC) Rocky Mountain/Haywood has won round #3, the final event of the Canada DH Cup series at Mt. Washington resort today. Sheila Morris (ON) Gravitesse was second and Katrina Strand (BC) Scott/Oakley was third. It was sunny earlier today but it started raining just prior to the competition making the course very slippery.

B.C.’s Luke Kitzanuk (Team Giant) won the Elite Men’s DH event in 3:56.820 over Mitch Delfs (Aus) DH Racer/Intersport in second and Jeff Beatty (BC) Mojo/Orange in third.

We caught up with Gatto just after her race and here’s what she had to say about her win today. “I’m just happy to have gotten down the hill today in one piece and with no crashes – not everyone was so luckly,” said Gatto. Gatto’s mom added, “It’s a great day for Micayla and you guy’s are awesome with your coverage.”

Due to a timing error the men’s final results were revised.
