July 27, 2003 (Fernie BC) – No change in the weather in Fernie, BC – hot! hot! hot! was the order of the day for the downhillers. The 2.1-kilometre course dropped 1,620 vertical feet and gave riders a taste of twisty, rooty singletrack, fast open fire road and lots of dust. Riders plowed through stutter bumps and set spectators to coughing and sneezing in their dust. Brant Lyon (Giant Canada) took top honours in the Elite Men's race, flying down the course at an average of nearly 30 kilometres per hour. In the Elite Women's competition, Danika Schroeter (Simon's Bike Shop) was the fastest by nearly 20 seconds. Tyler Pighin (Rocky's Ride and Glide) took the Junior Men's win.Unofficial Results
