June 6, 2004 (Ridge Meadows, B.C.) – Despite weather warnings that called for impending rain on
Sunday, the clouds parted and racing started right on time. Jason Richardson made no mistakes winning his second main
in two days as he earned top spot, and UCI points in
Pro-Elite Men. Eric Meyer rode in for the second while
Tyson McCrea improved his standings by taking a solid
third. Cory Banks, the Canada Cup points leader went down
in the last turn and settled for an eighth place finish.
Kurt Pascheit took advantage of a last minute clip-out by
Patrick Lebel in Pro-Elite Cruiser after an exciting
see-saw battle through most of the track, Lebel looked to
have the win sewed up going into the final straight, but
came unclipped and Pascheit rode by for the win. World
Junior Champion Samantha Cools once again handled the
Pro-Elite Women’s class.
Lebel would make no mistake in Junior Men taking the win
over Chris Astofooroff while Jon Land, one of the many
Proworks riders, beat out Scott Erwood in 17-29 action.
Christine Miller earned a measure of revenge in a tight
race in the 16 + girls class edging out rival Rosemary
Adams who won the class on Saturday.
