Burnaby Velodrome Sprint and Madison Clinics

November 16, 2007 – The Burnaby Velodrome is putting on Sprint and Madison clinics this December. So you think you want to be a Match Sprinter? Come out and give match sprinting a try. The Burnaby 6-day is approaching and you want to ride the Madison events? Come out and learn how to ride the Madison and get ready for the 6-day race.

BVC Sprint Clinic

This series of clinics will be led by multi-time National sprint discipline medallist and Champion Matt Chater. Matt will take you through all the steps from qualifying to gear selection to tactics and skills and a small sprint tournament. The clinics will run Sunday, Dec 2 from 3 – 5 PM, Wednesday, December 5th from 6:30 – 8 PM, and finishing Sunday, December 9th 3 – 5 PM.

The prerequisite for this clinic is Learn to Ride and race completion and you need to have done a couple of Friday night races. Fees for this series are $75 for non members. This includes drop in fee but no rental bike. $30 for members and no charge for training/racing pass holder. Please sign up by emailing jeremy@burnabyvelodrome.ca

BVC Madison Clinic

Madison training is some of the best training you can do on the track as the skill level required is very high as is the fitness component. If you can master the Madison you are well ahead of the game for any racing you might do. This series of clinics will be led by BVC coach Jeremy Storie. Jeremy will take you through all the steps from basic individual Madison skills to gear selection to tactics and skills and a small Madison race.

The clinics will run Wednesday, December 5, 12 and 19th from 6:30 – 8 PM and conclude on Friday December 21 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM., The prerequisite for this clinic is Learn to Ride and race completion and you need to have done a couple of Friday night races at a minimum of B level. Fees for this series are $100 for non members. This includes drop in fee but no rental bike. $40 for members and no charge for training/racing pass holder.
