October 3, 2007 – Leave the fenders and rain capes at home! Another cold and wet winter may be fast approaching, but racing in the dome is just starting to heat up! The Burnaby Velodrome, one of only three indoor tracks in North America, is proud to present the final BC Cup of 2007. With a guaranteed minimum cash prize purse of $2000 and amazing prizes from our sponsors and partners, racing promises to be action-packed.
Starting on the evening of Friday, November 9th and running through Sunday, November 11th, the exciting Burnaby Velodrome Challenge will feature racing for all levels of riders:
– A, B, and C category mass start races
– New Riders races
– A & B category Madison races
– Open and Novice Women category mass start races
– A and B category Sprints including 200m, Keirin, Match Sprint, and Team Sprint
– Women’s races
– Overall Omnium for all categories based on specified Feature Races
– Beverage Garden!
Want to watch? Admission for spectators is by donation. Come enjoy a beverage and see some of the fastest bike racers in North America battle it out on the boards at speeds in excess of 60km/h!
**Preregistration is MANDATORY and can be found at karelo.com. There will be no day-of registration. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, Nov 7. If you have any registration issues you must email race organizers before the deadline. BVC members with a Racing Membership must contact the race organizer to reserve your spot. Rider fields will be capped so register early to guarantee a spot. Billeting will be available for any out-of-town competitors. **
