Burnaby Velodrome Club Hosts Clinic

September 30, 2003 – On October 24, the Burnaby Velodrome Club and NCCP Level 4 coach Jeremy Storie will be hosting two half-day learn-to-ride the velodrome clinics in Burnaby at North America's only indoor velodrome. The clinics will give teachers involved in Leadership or regular P.E. courses, SPOKE and North Shore Series coaches, and athletic directors an opportunity to see how beneficial the Burnaby Velodrome could be to your programs. The velodrome is the perfect alternative to traditional P.E. outings and school coaches can learn about the benefits the velodrome can provide their mtn. Bike teams. No competitive cycling background is necessary and all specialized equipment is supplied. All you need is a helmet, cycling shoes and pedals OR running shoes and appropriate clothing.

Clinic highlights include : * Introduction to velodrome riding and racing * Up to 45 minutes of on track riding time * Bike provided * Insurance coverage

Clinics take place at the Burnaby Velodrome, a 200-metre wooden track, located inside the Harry Jerome Sports Centre near SFU, featuring 47 degree corners in a safe, dry environment. Clinic has very limited spaces. For more information on the velodrome please visit www.burnabyvelodrome.ca
