Burnaby Velodrome Club Back on Track

August 29, 2002 – A new agreement is saving this Olympic training facility
and Junior Development will start in October. The media are invited to an
open house at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, September 4, immediately preceding the
grand re-opening of Canada’s only indoor velodrome.
– Learn about our exciting and unique sport from some of Canada’s top
cyclists
– Interview and photograph elite local athletes in action
– Ride the track. Interested media are encouraged to climb into the saddle
for a few laps. Instruction and equipment will be provided.
– Learn from our junior riders about our youth development program
– Learn about the history of track cycling in BC from past champions and
other velo vets

WHAT: Burnaby Velodrome Club OPEN HOUSE
WHY: The Burnaby Velodrome Club is pleased to announce that it has signed
a three-year agreement to ride at the Harry Jerome Sports Centre
velodrome, Canada’s only indoor cycling track.

– 4:10 Riding demo (on-track photo op)
– 4:30 Q&A with riders and coaches

– Several of British Columbia’s top track cyclists will be available for
interviews and photographs.
