December 9, 2006 – We recently reported on Canada’s nine functional velodromes including some historical information as Six-Day racing used to be as popular as hockey in Canada (click here to read the story). Here’s a letter we received from Glenn Barr regarding the status of Burnaby Velodrome’s motopace capabilities.
Hey Benjamin,
Just read the article on the track, listing Burnaby as a great facility, but lacking the ability to motopace. Well, wish no more. Thanks to working closely with a local producer of electric conversion bikes, we now are the proud owner of a high-speed pace bike. Within the next couple of weeks, after shaking the bugs out, this bike will be available for our members, during structured motopacing workouts. More details and a few pictures to come in a weeks time or so.
Regards,
Glenn
ps. maybe pass this along to Eric, and see if we can move the whole Canadian Track Training Program out here, hey?
