August 6, 2008 – Plastiglas Ontario Cup # 6 will begin this Sunday, August 10 at the Buckwallow Cycling Centre near Gravenhurst, Ontario. The course is a mix of Buckwallow’s extremely fast doubletrack, and twisty, rocky singletrack, which is easily accessible for all spectators.
Course distance, will be approximately 9 km, and promises to once again be many riders favorite stop of the Ontario Cup Series. The 8:30 am categories can expect a fun, fast, 7 km course with less technical sections than the other starts. Ontario Cup # 6 will showcase some of Ontario’s most exciting riding with a great mix of Canadian Shield rock to ride on. Riders who are registered for Crank the Shield will enjoy getting a taste of the very same venue that will start stage one, a little over a month after the Ontario Cup. The cross-country events will test racers over distances ranging from 7-42 km with the Experts, and Elites racing for the last part of the day from 1:30pm until 3:30 pm.
The Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series consists of seven events taking place at premier mountain bike venues all across Ontario. These events have categories for all mountain bike ability levels and offers a fun and exciting weekend for all.
