November 30, 2003 – Belgium's Mario DeClercq pulled an upset yesterday at Bollekescross in Hamme-Zogge, Belgium, beating the “younger” favourites. Belgium's Bart Wellens and Sven Nijs, dominant in international cross this fall, could only finish 5th and ninth. Belgium's Ben Berden, ever-consistent, took second, and Tom Vannoppen rounded out the podium.
