BIXI-Mini Launching Soon

by pedalmag.com
April 01, 2013 (Montreal, QC) – Following the success of its popular public bike system, Montreal’s BIXI is soon announcing the launch of BIXI-Mini for kids, and is forecasting the same world-wide success. Apparently parents have been calling and emailing Public Bike System Company, owner of the BIXI program, for two years as officials wrestled with the concept.

Now several schoolboards have shown serious interest and are ready to sign contracts – and not just in Montreal. Sources say Toronto and Boston are eager to get on board early and believe that BIXI-Mini could become bigger than the original BIXI concept.

“There are 1,000s of kids out there who love riding and with BIXI-Mini bike platforms installed in schoolyards or on school property this idea is gaining traction,” commented a Public Bike System Company spokesperson. “One concern we had was how to deal with helmets but we think we’ve got a perfect solution utilizing a unique drop-off system along with a special helmet dispensing machine. Kids will love it – this could be really big and some board members believe it will go viral.”

Stay tuned for more on this breaking story.
