Bisaro Wins Superprestigio Massi #4

May 25, 2008 – Kiara Bisaro (Opus/OGC) won the Superprestigio Massi Vall de Lord 2008 organized by Ocisport.net. Sant Lorenç de Morunys staged round #4 of the Superprestigio Massi this weekend under an intense rain – the locals said it has not rained like this since 2.5 years. A total of 25 teams representing 10 different countries celebrated the mud on a technical course at this event. Bisaro (Opus/ OGC) had a strong start and dominated the race from the first corner until the finish demonstrating that she loves racing in muddy conditions. Anna Villar (Massi) place second and Cristina Mascarreras (Conor-La Siesta) was third in the elite women’s race.

“I had a great start, first one of the year, and took the lead by the first corner,” said Bisaro. “Within two minutes we’d caught the men who had started a minute in front and the chaos began. Since it’s generally very dry in Spain the Spanish masters racers tend to be not so fast on wet descents.”

“After spending a full lap on my brakes to avoid running into them my brakes were almost worn out. For the next two laps I was really fast on the descents since I had minimal braking power and had a few sketchy moments. It all added to the adventure and even though it was cold and wet it was probably the most fun I have had racing this year,” she added.

Bisaro’s next race is the UCI MTB World Cup #4 in Vall Nord, Andorra, also organized by Ocisport.net – for more info click here.
