BionX System

The BionX system, winner of the 2004 Grand Prix Québécois of Invention, allows riders to attach a battery-powered motor to their rear wheel. While the bike can still be pedaled like any other bike, the motor can be engaged in four settings to boost power by 25, 50, 100, or 200%. The motor can also be reversed to create resistance for training. The system can be purchased as a package with the wheel generator, battery, and controller for $1,395 or together as the complete BionX bicycle for $1,895. www.bionx.ca.
