BikeTech Review and Allied Aerospace Test Aero Bars

June 13, 2004 – In an ongoing effort to independently evaluate cycling
products for consumers and retailers alike, BikeTech Review recently
teamed up with Allied Aerospace and Nytro.com to tunnel test a selection
of top-of-the-line aerodynamic handlebars. The results of the test showed
a difference in aerodynamic force of nearly 25% from the best to worst
performing aero bar.

“We were really fortunate to be able to conduct this independent test in a
privately owned wind tunnel.” BikeTech Review owner, Kraig Willett,
commented. “The team at Allied Aerospace has created a dedicated set of
cycling fixtures and instrumentation that are sensitive enough to reliably
and accurately weigh something as small as two quarters – it was pretty
impressive.”

This test marks the second time BikeTech Review has wind tunnel tested
cycling products. Previous tunnel related product evaluations included
wheel, tire, and fork aerodynamics.
