December 11, 2006 – The Ottawa “Biker Bash” at Camp Fortune on Dec. 2 was a retirement party for Gord Fraser, as well as fund raiser for the Echelon Project, an initiative to help younger cyclists in the region to enter the ranks of bike racing.
One of the hurdles for younger cyclists is the enormous financial hurdle facing them as they begin, and the Echelon Project, the brainchild of John Large who also organized the “Biker Bash”, has been established to help with this and many other obstacles facing new riders.
The evening was a big success for the Echelon Project and here’s a video courtesy of Nadia Marshy, that shows part of the evening auction which saw Eon D’Ornellas/D’Ornellas Cycle take home one of Floyd Landis’ yellow jerseys.
