June 11, 2003 – June is Bike Month in Vancouver's Lower Mainland! BEST's (Better Environmentally Sound Transportation) is celebrating their annual bicycle awareness campaign in Vancouver's Lower Mainland this month. Full of celebrations, educational activities and the like, this month is jam-packed with cycling-related activities.

Some of the highlights of the month include the Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion fundraiser, UBC Bike Rodeo for Kids, Bikesexual Fetish Ride, Stanley Park Bike Festival, Vintage Bike Swap Meet, and Critical Mass.

The purpose of this glorious campaign is stated on the campaign's webiste: “To encourage as many people to cycle to work, to school, to play and to shop by raising awareness of the bicycle as a healthy, efficient and non-polluting transportation choice.”
