February 26, 2007 (Lahore, Pakistan) — BC’s BH Bicycles/Epicentre/Team Integrale to kick off the 2007 season at 13th Tour de Pakistan March 4-16.

The 13th Tour de Pakistan cycle race will begin on March 4 from Karachi and terminate in Peshawar on March 16, stated Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) president Nouraiz Shakoor during a news conference here on Friday. Besides the local riders, 30 foreign cyclists are also taking part in the event that will cover distance of 1648 kilometres with 11 stopovers.

The PCF president said the Pakistan Olympics Association (POA) had made it mandatory at the end of the Asian Games that any national event would not be held without foreign players’ participation. “Keeping in view the standard, the invitations were extended to seven foreign teams and the federation has received confirmations from New Zealand, Canada, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. But India, Iran and Bangladesh are yet to respond to the invitation,” he added. He said the cyclists from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, NWFP, Sui Southern Gas, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan WAPDA and Pakistan Army would vie for top honours. “Besides a number of co-sponsors, Bank Alfalah is the title sponsor,” he concluded.
