June 2, 2006 – After months of hard training and racing, Cycling BC is proud to announce the finalists in the race to win a birth on the 2006 BC Team to represent British Columbia at the 37th running of the Tour de l’Abitibi.

The province’s fastest Junior Men (aged 17 & 18) will join long-time Abitibi Veteran Coach, Ed Schum, at the Tour de l’Abitibi, the toughest, most competitive, 7-day Junior stage race in North America, and the only visit that the UCI Junior World Cup makes to the North American continent.

For many cyclists, the Tour is preparation for the Junior World Championships, bringing the best cyclists from all corners of the world. This international presence ensures media coverage for the Tour, which has been likened to the Tour de France for Juniors.
