November 29, 2005 – The race will again be set against a spectacular backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, the Coastal Mountains and the bustling Point Grey Village as racers for all over the Pacific Northwest and Canada compete for the 2006 Westside Cycling Classic.

“The support of the Community, City of Vancouver, Point Grey Village and racers in 2005 made us determined to build on our success” explained event director Jonathan Wornell, “We knew this race would become special and this year seeing the crowds come out, people picnicking on their lawns and the tremendous feedback has inspired us to put on a really special show for 2006” continued Wornell.

The race is scheduled for Sunday June 18th 2006 as part of the Point Grey Fiesta Weekend and is being organised by the Wedgewood Cycling Team as one of their main fund raising initiatives for 2006 in support of the BC Cancer Foundation. The BC Cancer Foundation raises funds to support research and care at the BC Cancer Agency.
