December 1, 2005 – Associated Press has reported that Barry Forde, a track rider from the Barbados, has tested positive for high amounts of testesterone. The test was from an in competition sample from October. Although the Barbados Cycling Federation has been notified of the positive test, they have not yet announced what sanctions Forde – arguably one of the most well-known Barbados riders currently – will receive. This is not the first time Forde has tested positive for a banned substance. In 2003 he tested positive for ephedrine, which cost him two Gold medals at the Pan Am championships – Forde blamed the test on using the wrong cough syrup.
