March 10, 2007 – According to the Quebec daily, le Quotidien, Audrey Lemieux (Expresscopy.com) is contemplating taking a sabbatical this year. Le Quotidien reached Lemieux on Thursday and quoted the 21-year-old rider as saying, “I’m starting university this September and it will be difficult for me to reconcile my studies and sports.”

This rumour was quickly contested by an article posted on Veloptimum (www.veloptimum.net) citing an unidentified source close to Lemieux who denies any possibility of her taking a sabbatical this year. It is further reported that Lemieux will issue a press release in the coming days to clear up the confusion.

Lemieux was the 2005 Canadian U23 road and ITT champion. In 2004, she was the Quebec ITT champ. The Quotidien report indicates that Lemieux wants to work in communications in the future, but is under contract to ride for Expresscopy.com this year.
