November 30, 2006 (Ottawa, Ontario) – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) wishes to advise the sport community of immediate changes to the Athlete Whereabouts Program. The CCES:
– will no longer grant extensions to whereabouts deadlines;
– will no longer provide athletes with multiple opportunities to provide – whereabouts information prior to declaring a “Failure to Provide Whereabouts Information” and;
– will begin to follow-up with athletes and national sport organizations when incomplete whereabouts information is submitted.
