December 6, 2003 (Victoria, BC) – During the CCA's Annual General Meeting being held in Victoria, BC this weekend some of Canada's top cyclists held their first Athlete Council meeting, chaired by Andreas Hestler, the current Athlete Rep representing Canada's cyclists at the CCA.

With representives for mountain, road, track, paraolympics and BMX in attendance the council was established and now has a structure with plans to meet regularly, determine goals and work directly through their voice at the CCA's Board level to play in part in addressing athlete concerns and other changes in cycling across Canada.
