Trail Maintenance Day on Dumont
Ever wonder who builds those awesome trails on Doumont? Who spends all the time and energy constructing the bridges that you ride over? Now is not only your chance to find out, but to give back a little:
Trail maintenance
Nanaimo Mountain bike club is having one of our regular “Trail maintenance” days on Sunday August 31, 11:30am meeting at the Motocross track. We usually work for apx. 2-3 hours and then the club supplies burgers and beverages (beer and coolers) to the volunteers. Even getting a few extra people is helpful. Workers don’t need to bring anything except a pair of work gloves; however bringing a pair of clippers or a rake is often a good idea.
Dumont Clean Up
Last year Arrowsmith Bikes organized a clean up day for the Dumont Rd MTB area and it was a huge success. Well unfortunately it would appear that we have to do it again. The date for this is Sunday, September 14. Last year we had over 100 people show up from all sorts of different user groups. The more people we recruit the cleaner it will look and we will gain more awareness for the problem. The clean up will start at 10:00 and garbage bags will be provided. You may want to bring some work gloves.

Certified Bike Fitter
Are you having trouble getting comfortable on your bike, want to get more power out of your pedal stroke? Arrowsmith Bikes now has a certified bike fitter on staff. We take into account the whole person and we adjust the bike to fit their needs and riding style. Assessing their past, present and future physiological factors along with their cycling goals and fitness level, combined with principles of biomechanics and alignment we construct a picture of the best position for them on their bike (seat height and angle, fore and aft position, handlebar width and drop, stem length and rise). We may also make suggestions about form and alignment.
Each fitting will take approximately 1.5 – 2 hours and cost $125 plus parts.
