“This first taste of success, earned on the Gallium Pro over two road stage wins and on the E-118 in the time trial, is very good news,” commented ex-cycling champion and Argon 18 founder/CEO Gervais Rioux. “Fredrik hasn’t even turned 19 yet but in race after race, he has shown that he has the potential to become a great champion”. Ably supported by Argon 18’s technological prowess, the entire team can now legitimately expect a breakthrough season. Argon 18 congratulates Fredrik Ludvigsson and his teammates and is pleased that its bikes have played a key role in forging this General Classification victory.
For Fredrik Ludvigsson, success had been beckoning for the past few weeks. While holding 5th place on G.C. at the Tour de Normandie last month, Fredrik, younger brother of pro rider Tobias Ludvigsson (Argos-Shimano), made the best of his growing form to strike hard in the Croisille-to-Arras time trial stage, blasting through 23 kilometres in 30’41” aboard the E-118. The youthful ace, a strong third at the Swedish juniors’ time trial championships last year, then grabbed first place in the third road stage, sealing the overall victory and bringing home the pink jersey.
“It’s been a fantastic weekend for the team and myself!” says Fredrik Ludvigsson. “Once I’d won the time trial, everyone on the team worked hard to let me keep the pink jersey. My Argon 18 helped as well; it’s very efficient. I like to ride a stiff bike and the Gallium Pro meets all of my expectations. It feels right”.
Fredrik’s next challenge will come on April 6th at the U-23 Tour of Flanders, one of the UCI Nations Cup U-23 race series. With solid support from Argon 18, everything is in place for Fredrik Ludvigsson and Team People-Unass Cycling to ride on to unprecedented racing success.
