Argon 18 and Team H2V Launch Book to Raise Money for Juvenile Diabetes

January 31, 2008 (Montreal, Que.) – Argon 18 wishes to spread the news about a new and striking initiative from Team H2V aiming to increase funding in the fight against juvenile diabetes. This undertaking comes in the form of a new book, proceeds from which will be directed to research work on the illness.

Last September, a group of accomplished cyclists formed Team H2V with the aim of riding across Canada, from (you guessed it) Halifax to Vancouver. This odyssey, accomplished on Argon 18 bikes, was enshrined in the Guiness Book of Records and served to raise over a million dollars for the benefit of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF).

The newly-published book is entitled The Principles of the Ride: How to Maximize what’s Inside You. It was written by two members of H2V, Matt Young and Willie Cromack. Inspired by the cross-country experience, the book deals with matters of motivation and personal accomplishment.

For each copy sold, ten dollars will be forwarded to the JDRF and in this way, the authors hope to raise a further $ 250,000 to benefit the organization. The book can be ordered directly from Vancouver’s John Henry Bicycle Shop website at www.johnhenrybikes.com.

About Team H2V

The team comprises: Taylor Balagno, Matt Young, Richard Alm, Willie Cromack, Keith Nicoll, Kyle Balagno and Bryan Kelly. Last September, they rode the 6,000 kilometers that separate Halifax from Vancouver in 9 days, taking in several of the country’s largest cities. In doing so, Team H2V raised $ 1,000,000 for the benefit of the JDRF. Argon 18 was proud to have played its part by supplying the riders with bikes worthy of their effort and of their will to overcome juvenile diabetes.
