August 04, 2015 (Saint Martin de Landelles, France) – Canada’s Antoine Duchesne (Europcar) finished third at La Poly Normande on Sunday. Duchesne completed the 157km race from Avranches to Saint Martin de Landelles in 4:14:32 with the same time as winner, Oliver Nassen (Bel) Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise. Duchesne finished second in the 2014 edition of the Poly Normande; no other Canadian has podiumed there since the event began in 1980. Cycling greats such as Laurent Fignon (1st, 1989) feature among those who have podiumed at this event in the past.

Meanwhile, Team Europcar is in a race to find a new title sponsor as Europcar, a Paris-based car rental agency, will no longer support the team after 2015. According to rumours on Facebook, team owner Jean-René Bernardeau will soon reveal a new title sponsor.

The UCI Professional Continental team often competes in WorldTour events, such as the Tour de France, on a wild card invitation. Previously known as Brioches La Boulangère, Bonjour, Bouygues Télécom, and Bbox Bouygues Telecom, the team rides Colnago bikes and counts Canadian-based Louis Garneau Sports among its sponsors.
