May 17, 2004 – Late last week I received notice from Pierre Hutsebaut, the CCA Director General, that he would going on medical leave for one month; or possibly longer. We are very sorry to hear Pierre is not well and sincerely hope that he is able to recover soon.

In order to sustain the day-to-day operation of the national office, I am announcing the following allocation of responsibility and authority, effective May 17. Brett Stewart, the CCA Competition Coordinator, has agreed to fill in as Acting Director General, and Sean O'Donnell, the CCA High Performance Coordinator, will oversee the National Team Program with the support of the High Performance Committee.

If you have any questions please call either Brett, Sean, or myself. I thank everyone in advance for their patience and support at this critical time in our season. I am confident that our staff and volunteers have the skills and experience to make sure that we are able to keep the focus on helping our athletes and programs succeed.
