Amy Moore Interview

November 24, 2005 – As we reported yesterday, two Canadians – Lyne Bessette and Amy Moore – will be riding with the powerful T-Mobile women’s team next year. Moore comes after riding 2005 with the Victory Brewing team. Pedalmag.com caught up with Moore from her home in Ontario.

Amy, Congrats with the new team. How long was that deal in the making.

Amy Moore: Thank you very much. I had spoken with Andrzej [Bek} at the end of August, but things didn’t materialize for me until last week.

What do you hope to gain from riding with T-mobile? It will be a very different schedule than last year, correct?

AM: It will be an experience of a lifetime. I’m looking forward to racing at the major European races including the World Cup schedule. I am so excited to ride with the talent on that team, and know that I have so much to learn from them. Above all, they are exceptional team players, and I hope to add to the success of the team. Yes, it will be a very different schedule and I look forward to racing in new races that I have not done before.

You’re reunited with Lyne. How well do you know your other new teammates?

AM: Yes, it will be great to ride with Lyne again, she is such a strong rider and has helped to guide me in the past. Other than Lyne, I am so excited to be riding with Magali LeFloch and Ina Tuetenberg again. All the riders on the team are so nice, and I have met most of them before in races. Riding with Judith Arndt will be incredible as she is one of the strongest riders in the world, along with being a great tactician and team player.

Will you still be living in Canada the whole time?

AM: Of course we will still have our home in Canada, but I will be in Europe for large time periods. I’m not sure where I’ll be living while overseas, but I should figure that out soon after I talk with my new teammates.

When will you have your first training camp?

AM: Jan 5-15 we will be in Mallorca, Spain for training camp. The team press release will be on Jan 14th along with the men’s team.

Thanks Amy, and good luck.

AM: Thank you very much!
