June 26, 2006 — Canadian National Team BMX rider Samantha Cools, 20, won two gold medals in her hometown of Airdrie (AB) this weekend. Patrick Lebel, 19, from Calgary (AB) took the silver medal at the UCI BMX Airdrie International held in Alberta this weekend. Robert Dewilde of the Netherlands took the gold, while US John Purse completed the podium.

Samantha Cools was followed by Canada’s Adrienne Binnie and Lori Smith, who respectively earned the second and third place in the Elite category.

Cools dominated the competition, as she also earned a gold medal in the Cruiser category, followed by team mates Kaila Sweeney and Lindsay Edwards.
