Sterling, Virginia – Hong Kong – Padova Italy (March, 2003) – Acumen Manufacturing, a fully-owned subsidiary of South East Asia Resources Limited based in Hong Kong, announced the signing of a letter-of-intent to purchase the worldwide rights to the Vetta brand.

The agreement encompasses all Vetta products, trademarks, intellectual property, manufacturing tooling, software codes, and patents.

Arrangements call for Acumen Inc. to become the exclusive North American sales agent and distributor for all Vetta products while parent company, Acumen Manufacturing will concentrate efforts on establishing new distribution channels throughout Europe and Asia.

In conjunction with the agreement, the company has appointed former Vetta president, Donn Kellogg, General Manager of Vetta Brands, to oversee every aspect of Vetta-brand marketing and sales worldwide. “Donn Kellogg brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will be key to the overall success of this venture,” says David H. Tappan, Director of Business Development. “Donn's proven sales and marketing savvy combined with Acumen's innovative approach to engineering and manufacturing will prove a winning combination in returning the Vetta brand to international prominence.”

Kellogg, now based in Acumen's new offices in Padova, Italy, is excited over the agreement as well. “It was three years ago while developing a new product line that I experienced first-hand the advantages of being more closely aligned with the manufacturing process,” says Kellogg. As a result of that experience, Kellogg initiated efforts to establish closer ties to Acumen, realizing such an association could lead to major developments. “Bringing the Vetta brand and Acumen together has required a major commitment of time and effort,” says Kellogg. “I have no doubt that together with my colleagues in Virginia and China this commitment will result in establishing a forwarding-thinking division with a reputation for consistently delivering innovative new products to the marketplace.”
