May 30, 2006 – After months of training, the ’06 Abitibi BC Team is set to be announced.

Six of the province’s fastest Junior Men (aged 17 & 18) will join long-time Abitibi Veteran Coach, Ed Schum, in representing British Columbia at the 37th running of the Tour de l’Abitibi, the toughest, most competitive, 7-day Junior Stage Race in North America, and the only visit that the UCI Junior World Cup makes to the continent.

For many Junior cyclists, the Tour is preparation for the World Championships, bringing the best cyclists from all corners of the world. This international presence ensures media coverage for the Tour, which has been likened to the Tour de France for Juniors.

After 8 hard-fought events, Cycling BC is set to announce the 2006 BC Team in the coming days.
