December 30, 2004 – The Recreation and Transportation Committee, responsible for promoting the non-competitive aspects of cycling in Alberta, is seeking new members.

This Committee is an ad hoc body, involved in issues including advocating the rights of cyclists and promoting bicycle education, in addition to facilitating the activities of touring clubs. The Committee meets approximately four times each year, usually by teleconference. The Committee is particularly interested in recruiting new members from outside the major centres of Calgary and Edmonton.

The ABA is looking for a club to co-host a social event during the World Masters Games. The event will be open to all cycling competitors and their families, and will take place in Edmonton o­n July 30th. The ABA would like to work with a club to host such an event.
