ABA BMX Job Posting

Job Posting, for the position of BMX Coordinator.

Reporting: The BMX Coordinator will report, through the Technical Director or Executive Director, to the President.

Duties and Responsibilities of this position include:

Events:

“¢ The BMX Coordinator will act as ABA Technical Delegate at all Provincial BMX events. Duties include assisting Organizers and officials, and representing the Alberta Bicycle Association.
“¢ The BMX Coordinator will track all district points.
“¢ The BMX Coordinator will ensure BMX Event Organizers meet the conditions of their sanction, and that club race activities are carried out in a responsible fashion.
“¢ The BMX Coordinator will assist with the execution of CCA/UCI-sanctioned BMX events occurring in Alberta.
“¢ The BMX Coordinator will manage other administrative duties associated with events, including contributions to website and member updates, procurement of insurance certificates, and management of ABA assets related to events.
“¢ The BMX Coordinator will ensure proper communication surrounding events: details submitted to ABA membership; results posted and distributed to media.

Meetings:
“¢ The BMX Coordinator is expected to participate in and record the minutes of the BMX Committee meetings. The BMX Coordinator will develop meeting agendas in conjunction with the VP BMX.
“¢ The BMX Coordinator in conjunction with the Executive Director will provide regular financial updates to the BMX Committee.
“¢ The BMX Coordinator will coordinate, with Provincial or Assistant Chief Commissaire, the scheduling of BMX officials.

Alberta BMX:
“¢ The Alberta Bicycle Association has a memorandum of understanding with the Alberta BMX Association. The BMX Coordinator will work with Alberta BMX to provide funding and support for the BMX Provincial team program, commissaire training, provincial team jerseys, number plates, etc..
“¢ The BMX Coordinator will work with Alberta BMX to establish appropriate dates, locations and organizers for provincially sanctioned BMX events.

Administration:
“¢ Staff resources are used to enable the work of the committee. As such, the BMX Coordinator is expected to act within the existing ABA and BMX policy.

The BMX Coordinator will work closely with ABA Committees, and other ABA staff, in the execution of his/her duties. The position will require significant schedule flexibility, with many weekend commitments and occasional evening commitments. The ABA BMX Coordinator must have access to a vehicle, and be willing to travel extensively in-province.

Hours of Work: The BMX Coordinator position will be .75 (30hrs/week). This position will be based in Calgary, AB.

Remuneration: $1,750/mo.
