Walter, the defending series champ, made it 3-for-3 as she continues her domination of Elite women’s category. Marine Lewis (Equipe du Quebec) was the top Junior women and Peter Disera (CSAJCC/Norco pb LG) won the Junior men’s race.
Mikaela Kofman (Scott-3Rox Racing), who was second on the Elite women’s podium, told Pedal, “The course is fast and somewhat bumpy. I raced here last year in an O-Cup and won so I knew what to expect. The start was fast – Emily Batty flatted early and Walter took off and gapped the field. I was in 5th and then attacked on the first climb and fought to hold my spot in second. I’m happy with my race today and my season so far.”
Following the Sudbury Canada MTB Cup riders head to Hardwood Ski and Bike near Barrie, ON for the 2013 Canadian MTB Championships July 18-21.
