New 9-Stage Tour de la Montérégie Introduces GP de la Mairie de Contrecoeur – April 21

April 18, 2012 – (Saint-Constant, QC) – Le Tour de la Montérégie, a new nine-stage road racing series in Quebec, is hosting its first event Saturday, April 21, on a new course: the Grand Prix de la Mairie de Contrecoeur. The race will see Junior national champion Émile Jean’s (Ékoi/Gaspésien) introduction to the professional ranks on a challenging race course where the wind will be a major factor.

The start gun for the senior men’s race will fire at 2:30 p.m. for an eight-lap, 107.2km road race The town of Contrecoeur is a short distance north of Montreal, but on the south side of the St. Lawrence River. Everything is in place for an exciting start to the 2012 season on April 21 in Contrecoeur.
