May 30, 2012 (Queensville, ON) – This is a reminder that the 6th annual Tour de Speed takes place on June 16th, in Queensville, Ontario, (near Newmarket) about 45 minutes north of Toronto. This race is just for the kids aged 9 to 16 and includes age appropriate TTs, RRs and skills events and is the second leg of the Ontario Cycling Association’s Youth Cup Series.

The race is on a closed paved course in a rural setting. We are expecting over 100 of the fastest young riders in southern Ontario; podium finishers receive medals, there is a BBQ lunch for all participants and swag for early registrants.

Also, while arrangements have not been finalized, it seems very likely that the Tour de Speed will take on an international flavour with the participation of four young girls from Cuba. The girls are being sponsored by Jeff Reid and the Bikes For Cuba www.bikesforcuba.com program. Event registration is on the OCA web-site www.ontariocycling.org.

Location
A few kilometres north-east of Newmarket near the town of Queensville. The race starts and finishes at the North Union Community Centre at the NW corner of Boag Rd. and Catering Rd.
