May 11, 2011 (Toronto, ON) – A crowd of cycling fans visited La Bicicletta in Toronto last week to ogle two limited edition Eddy Merckx EMX-7 525 Anniversary bikes while sampling Belgian waffles and beer, and espressos courtesy of the Domestique Cafe. The bikes, part of a limited run of only 200, commemorate Merckx’s 525 professional wins, with each major victory hand-painted onto the bike’s custom carbon wheels and frame. Each bike is numbered and comes with a limited edition Eddy Merckx Art book, featuring beautiful photos of the greatest moments of “The Cannibal’s” career. Valued at $22,000, the bikes drew many a long and lingering stare from fans.
