September 09, 2017 (Cairns, Australia) – Leandre Bouchard as the top Canadian in 24th as Nino Schurter (Switzerland) made history winning the 31.7 km Elite Men’s XCO race over Jaroslav Kulhavy (Czech Republic) in second and Thomas Litscher (Switzerland) in third. It was the perfect-perfect season for Schurter as the Swiss rider also won all six World Cup races to claim the 2017 UCI MTB World Cup XCO title as well.
