“We’re really pleased with the attendance and the quality of the visitors to the show,” commented Peter Hockenhull of Epic Outdoor Events that also organizes the Canmore Gran Fondo. “We’ve had great feedback from exhibitors as well and some were surprised at the great turn out.”
The show included a total of 42 exhibitors including manufacturers like Specialized and Rocky Mountain and event organizers like the Tour de Victoria, Granfondo Axel Merckx and Singletrack 6. The mix included local bike shops and charities along with Strider Bikes for kids with a demo track, a BMX demo area, and a spin class by Peloton Cycling.
Ryder Hesjedal’s Giro-winning bike was on display and drew lots of attention. Several training consultants were also on hand to help with planning the upcoming season and there were bike fittings being done as well.
“We’ve had great support from the exhibitors and good comments all round and we’re already talking about next year. We hope the show is going to become a mainstay of the spring season launch in Calgary,” added Hockenhull – see full interview below.
