January 29, 2013 (Sudbury, ON) – Ontario’s 2013 season is going to be very exciting for Mountain Biking ! Check out these important notices and details about these key events – the Sudbury Canada Cup and the 2013 Canadian MTB Championships.
Sudbury Canada Cup/Ontario Cup #4 – July 13/14
We first have a new venue for the Canada Cup/Ontario Cup #4 at the Naughton Trails in Sudbury. Last years test event was a huge success. A very technical and physical course offering a new challenge to riders, and huge support from the local community. All the riders and teams enjoyed exploring Sudbury with great choices of accommodation and hotels.
Schedule (quick version)
– Friday July 12 – Pre-ride 4-9 pm / All Jr Expert and Elite riders must register before 5 pm
– Saturday July 13 – Pre-ride 9am-5pm / Rider sign in (mandatory) / Team Managers meeting 5 pm
– Sunday July 14 – Cross Country Canada Cup/Ontario Cup races / No day of registration!
Accommodation
This is a very busy tourist time of year, so we highly suggest booking accommodation early

Canadian MTB Championships / Ontario Cup #5 – July 16-21, Hardwood Ski and Bike
We are so excited to host the Canadian Championships, and the first time back in Ontario since 1997! Hardwood is also poised to be the MTB site for 2015 Pan Am games, which will help create a better course and infrastructure over the next two years. We are planning many exciting events over the week, and hope you can plan join us. There is also a massive media push in the works that will be a benefit to all teams and riders involved.

– Saturday July 20 – XCO Canadian Championships, Elite – U23 – Junior Exp – Cadet Expert

Expo/Team Tech area
– Team Tech and Expo must be booked by ALL teams requiring space. Ontario Cup series Team Space does NOT apply

– All teams are required to maintain their presence for both Saturday and Sunday. Move out allowed only after final awards Sunday.
Other Important Notes
The Canadian Championships is a big and complex event, especially with the Canada Cup as a lead-in event. We are striving to make these “best ever” events for Ontario and Canada. With that we also require more notice and planning time in all aspects. As such:
– There is NO day-of registration for either the Canada Cup or Canadian Championships, in any categories
– All Team Area must be pre-booked well in advance to ensure available area.
– Team Area/Expo cannot sell items or perform fee for service, except with specific advance agreement.
– All Elite/U23/Jr Exp/Cadet Exp riders MUST register 48 hours prior to their race. These are strict UCI regulations.
