September 18, 2012 (Valkenburg, NED) – Elinor Barker (Great Britain) captured the rainbow jersey in the Junior Women’s 15.6km TT from Eijsden/Margraten to Valkenburg today at the 2012 Road Worlds with Cecile Uttrup Ludwig (Denmark) in second and Demi De Jong (Netherlands) in third. Canada’s reigning Junior Women’s TT champ Saskia Kowalchuk from Ontario had the misfortune to crash within the first 100 metres and had to change to her road bike ending up 40th while teammate Allyson Gillard placed 37th.
