2012 Cyclo-cross Championships Elite/U23 Men Full Results – Updates

November 17, 2012 (Surrey, BC) – The rain has stopped for the start of the Elite/U23 Men’s race at the 2012 CX Nationals just underway with reigning champ Chris Sheppard hoping to defend his title against a strong field including Geoff Kabush (BC), Mike Garrigan (ON), Aaron Schooler (AB), Andrew Watson (ON), Derrick St. John (ON) and more contenders. Meanwhile Evan McNeely (ON) is the target in the U23 Men’s race that runs concurrently… the U23 winner will be declared after 50 minutes of racing and Elite Men’s winner after 60 min.

Geoff Kabush is making a break… he has about 8 seconds and the chasers.

McNeely has established a commanding lead of about 30 seconds on Evan Guthrie (BC) in the U23 Men’s race.

The street lights are coming on in Surrey, BC – it’ll be getting dark very soon… almost 1/2 thru the men’s race.

Kabush has opened up the gap on the chasers including Sheppard, Schooler and St. John… now 20+ seconds.

McNeely looks unstoppable as his lead is growing over Guthrie… it’s pretty dark out now.

Kabush is on a tear and has extending his lead now close to 40s as Sheppard behind begins to make his move… will it be too late?

Kabush has 58 seconds over Sheppard in 2nd…

McNeely is about to cross the line to defend his title w/Guthrie in second.
