November 17, 2012 (Surrey, BC) – A moderate rain has started at the 2012 CX Nationals just in time for the Elite races up next – the course is wet w/puddles forming. The Elite Women/Junior Men’s race will soon be underway with lots of talent on the start line. There are 26 Elite women and 17 Junior Men ready to battle for the championship titles. Emily Batty (ON), 24, is the defending Elite Women’s champ w/Catharine Pendrel, former MTB Worlds champ and 4x MTB National champ in the mix. Quebec’s Yohan Patry is the defending Junior Men’s champ but we don’t see him in the start list… it’s 40 minutes of racing for both groups today in wet Surrey.

The Elite Women are off in rainy conditions… the riders are getting strung out behind – the laps will be quick at 3km each.
