release by the UCI

July 9, 2010 (Aigle, Switzerland) – The 2011 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup will stop over at a new venue in the Czech Republic, while three other host venues make a comeback after a break in 2010. The 2011 World Cup calendar, approved by the UCI Management Committee in Birmingham, features 10 rounds, including seven for XCO and DHI (one more than in 2010) and six for 4-cross.

Nove Mesto Na Morave (CZE) is the new host on the 2011 calendar. It will welcome round six of the Olympic cross country competition on August 13th and 14th. Meanwhile the hosts making a comeback to the World Cup series after a break in 2010 are:

– Pietermaritzburg (RSA) with the opening round, a triple event – XCO, DHI, 4X – on April 23rd and 24th
– Mont-Sainte-Anne (CAN), which took a break from the circuit in 2010 to concentrate on hosting the UCI World Championships. It will host a triple event in 2011 on July 2nd and 3rd.
– La Bresse (FRA) which will play host to the Gravity racers (DHI and 4X) on August 6th and 7th. This popular venue was elected best DHI event in 2009.
– In 2010, Leogang (AUT) made its debut on the Mountain Bike World Cup calendar and convinced both the riders and the public: it is back in 2011 with a DHI-4X event on June 11th and 12th.

The 2011 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup calendar will also stop off at Dalby Forest (GBR), Offenburg (GER), Fort William (GBR) and Windham (USA). The World Cup series will draw to a close with a triple event in Val Di Sole (ITA) on August 20th and 21st.
