May 15, 2015 (Gatineau, QC) – The Santé Universelle//Marin Bikes cycling team is happy to announce that Chad Beyer will be joining its ranks for the Tour de Beauce that will take place June 10-14. A 6-year pro veteran, Chad Beyer was part of the prestigious BMC pro cycling team with whom he participated and finished the Giro d’Italia in 2011.
After the dissolution of 5-Hour Energy, a UCI-Continental level team, Beyer was left with no professionnal contract at the end of 2014. He has been competing with the American amateur team Superissimo whitch also rides on Marin Bikes for 2015. Beyer’s team made it possible for Santé Universelle//Marin Bikes to obtain his services for the Tour de Beauce UCI 2.2 stage race. Team owner, Frederick Gates was delighted with the acquisition of such a high calibre athlete. “Our cyclists are thrilled to have him as a leader for the Tour de Beauce. We have a good team but we wanted to add some experience to our roster heading to Beauce. His climbing skills will give the team some extra punch.”Created at the onset of the 2015 season, the Santé Universelle//Marin Bikes team consists of Jean-Sébastien Perron, Anthony Barrette, Emile Jean, Robert Hargrove, Ben Andrew, Shawn Clarke and Robert Ralph.
